CONSERVING THE NATURE
Hulmu is a nature-friendly choice in various ways. We support local production by designing and
manufacturing the Hulmu collection in Finland. In this way, we load the nature the minimum
amount. We use nature’s own materials and aspire to generate waste as marginally as possible. In
addition, we obey the rules of slow fashion: our fabrics and designs are timeless, minimalistic and
classical. Linen as a material is also an environmentally friendly alternative. It does not use much
water while farming it and maintains nature’s diversity. We avoid combining organic and inorganic
materials, so that our products would be easy to recycle or return to nature.
We do our best to improve the poor situation of textile industry. Our actions are honest and
transparent: we are aware of the stages of our production line and our associates’ working
conditions. Hulmu -clothes are made in Finland.
MATERIALS AND TREATMENT
The materials on Hulmu-products are chosen with care. All our fabrics are softened linen and
come from Lithuania. The olive tree -buttons are made in Italy. The packaging materials are
completely recyclable and the product labels are made of recycled cardboard.
The appearance and the feeling of linen is calming. Linen clothes are breathable and cooling, and
therefore hygienic and pleasant to use. Because of its smooth fiber surface, linen repels dirt. It is a
strong fabric and therefore linen’s life is particularly long.
Our linen clothes endure a 60°C delicate wash, a light tumble dry and a two-point ironing.
The life of the cloth can be extended by washing it in a lower temperature and ironing it while it is
still wet, instead of tumble drying. It is recommendable to moisten a dry linen fabric properly
before ironing. Washing the cloth in plentiful water preserves it and protects it from crinkles.
It is normal that the varnish layer of the olive-tree buttons wears out during the first washes.
